SERMON: Is God a Monster? (Part 1)

Is God a Monster?

How are we supposed to read a book that teaches love as the center of everything, as the very definition of God (God is love, I John 4:8) but, at times, seems to condone violence… even genocide?

Scripture: 1 John 4:8, John 1:1-18, Hebrews 1:1-3, 2 Corinthians 3:16-18

From Series: "Is God a Monster?"

Kooky Laws? Stonings? Slavery? How are we supposed to approach the parts of the Old Testament that seem so barbaric, ancient and, frankly, un-Christ-like? Next Sunday we start a new sermon series to discuss some of the most difficult questions raised in the Old Testament.
